Long Lasting Cologne Keep Smelling Great For Longer

Lets be honest there are lots of popular colognes for men flooding the market. However, a lot of these perfumes and colognes simply don’t last more that a few hours, which can be extremely disappointing when you’ve handed over fifty plus dollars for what you thought was the best mens cologne you could find.

Trying to find the best long lasting cologne isn’t as hard as you think, they do exist, but weeding out the bad colognes that don’t last long can take a lot of trial and error. However, today is your lucky day, because I have done a lot of the leg-work for you and picked out some long lasting perfume and colognes that won’t leave you scentless after a few hours.

Longest Lasting Men’s Cologne

Below I have handpicked a selection of some of the best perfume for men that lasts long. I have tried to find colognes and perfumes for all tastes, ranging from woody notes to less harsh and milder sweeter tones. I’m confident that there is a long lasting cologne suitable for everyone below no matter what kind of cologne you tend to splash on.

Chanel Allure Homme Sport

If you are looking for a long lasting mens cologne look no further than Chanel Allure Homme Sport. The trick to making cologne last longer is all down to the quality of the raw materials used to create the fragrance. This is where Chanel really shines with Allure Homme Sport, they have always used excellent, expensive raw materials in all of their scents and they didn’t disappoint with Allure.

How can I sum up Allure Homme Sport? Well it’s sporty, clean and a truly classic ‘fresh aquatic and tonka’ fragrance – it’s also a perfect cologne for young men.

Eau de New York Bond No 9

Eau de New York Bond No 9

My second recommendation for a long lasting perfume is the Eau de New York by Bond No 9. This fragrance was launched in 2004 and put together by Vera Vanore. This fragrance is a citrusy unisex scent that can be used by both men and women.

Some of the top notes include mandarin, grapefruit, and petitgrain which then slowly fade into a scent of basil, lily, and jasmine later in the day. If you are looking for a citrus scent that you don’t want to wear just in the warmer weather? This would be it!

Mugler Cologne Thierry Mugler

If you are on a tight budget but still want the best perfume for men that lasts long I recommend you take a look at Thierry Mugler Cologne. Priced in the fifty dollar mark (at the time of writing) you really can’t go wrong with this great long lasting fragrance.

Once applied, Thierry Mugler Cologne starts of with a sharp citrusy notes which is then followed by a soapy scent, soapy? don’t worry it’s not bad. This combination gives you an extremely fresh scent of cleanliness, making you smell out “of the shower fresh” throughout the day.

Pure White Cologne Creed

Pure White Cologne Creed

For those of you who are serious about smelling great for longer and don’t mind emptying your wallet, look no further than Pure White Cologne Creed. Priced at around $900 (at the time of writing) this isn’t a cheap cologne by any means, but as the old saying goes “you do get what you pay for” and Pure White Cologne Creed is long lasting cologne that will still keep you smelling great until late evening.

This fragrance is very distinct, yet with the grapefruit and bergamot opening that lingers long throughout the day you will then find that is opens up to a pear and white musk base.

Kenneth Cole Black

Kenneth Cole Black

This is my final recommendation and the cheapest out of the lot, priced at around $30 (at the time of writing) you really can’t go wrong with this long lasting cologne. Launched in 2003, Kenneth Cole Black for Men is a woody aromatic fragrance along with subtle hints of ginger, mandarin, basil, and orange. These all then mellow out to more woody base notes including cedar, exotic woods, amber, and musk.

Kenneth Cole Black is an excellent mature scent that goes down well with the younger guys, this cologne last for a long time and is perfect for applying in the afternoon to take you through the evening – a subtle yet pronounced spicy cologne.

How To Make Cologne Last Longer

Sometimes no matter how much you spend on a new cologne or perfume, the scent still seems to fade before you even make it to lunchtime. However, there are a few simple tips and tricks that can help you to prolong the smell of your cologne way past lunchtime and in most cases you’ll still be smelling great by the time you climb into bed.

Tip 1: As crazy as it sounds this does actually work. Simply rub some Vaseline onto your you skin in the areas where you are going to apply your cologne. Vaseline is occlusive so it will help to make cologne last longer once applied.

Tip 2: Spray or apply your cologne or perfume directly after taking a shower. Your pores will be open after a hot shower and combined with the extra moisture on your skin will help lock in the scent making it last longer.

Tip 3: When applying your colognes or perfumes always try and target pulse areas of your body. This is a great tip on how to make cologne last longer, that really works. Try apply to the neck area, your wrists, and even on your chest over your heart.

Tip 4: My final tip for a longer lasting scent is to apply before you get dressed. If you followed tip 2 you should all-set, you’ve already applied you cologne and you’re good to go. There is a scientific reason behinds this, colognes and perfumes are actually activated by heat and chemicals on your body. Having your colognes on your clothing rather than your body isn’t going to last very long.
